Nordic Meeting 2000 was a unique project for ELSA members in Finland. For the first time two local groups, ELSA Helsinki and ELSA Wasa, and the national group, ELSA Finland, co-operated for such a demanding project and established together an OC. Even the seniors helped the OC in many ways. The seminar was a great success and showed the importance of the network and co-operation.

There were about 50 people from all over Europe participating in the seminar in February 2000! Most of them came from the Nordic countries, but we evene had some brave Italian and Portiguese guests. It was the first time when all the ELSA members, not only Nordic Elsanians, were welcome to the Nordic Meeting.

We had several lectures about international environmental law. The lectures had different backgrounds (e.g. university, politics, administration, law firms and NGOs), which helped the participants to understand all the different aspects of the topic. And we alsohad some ELSA training!

The social programme of the Nordic Meeting 2000 is still remembered. The reason for that is perhaps the Sitz Party that ELSA Wasa organised. The traditional Nordic Sitz Party consists of singing, singing, singing… and drinking schnaps.
