ELSA Helsinki organised a Bilateral Study Visit with the local group of ELSA Naples (Italy) in the year 2000. The first part took place in Naples from 8th to 17th of April 2000, and it consisted of different kinds of activities from lectures at the University "Federico II" and museum visits to tasty pasta dinners and visits to the beautiful Amalfitanian Coast. One day we even went to the beach to enjoy the smooth Italian sun!

Nevertheless, the best part of the visit surely was the opportunity to make friends with our Italian student colleagues and to take part in their everyday-life for the ten-day-period, which was a unique experience also from the cultural point of view.

The part in Helsinki started on September the 3rd, when we had the opportunity to meet our new friends again. In the academic programme there were lectures on Roman law, IT law and on cultural aspects between Italy and Finland. We also made single study visits e.g. to the Supreme Court of Finland, to the Finnish Delegation of the European Commission and to the Headquarters of Nokia. As regards other activities during the week, we spent one day in the old town of Porvoo and, of course, organised a traditional Sitz Party as well, not to forget a week-end at a summer cottage, too. All in all, the Bilateral Study Visit turned out very well and it probably allured new members to ELSA Helsinki as well!
