Art

One of  my big hobbies is painting. I have been painting in oil since 1990, and now, when I am retired, I have attend  the Open University of applied sciences in Nykarleby, our neighbour town, for two years. Today Anders and I are studying art in the Nordic Art School in Kokkola. It is a three year long part-time education for adults. On Tuesday evenings we have lectures on modern art and art philosophy by the school´s visiting teachers, on Thursday evenings there is model drawing with live model. And once a month we have courses in different subjects: drawing, tempera painting, acrylic painting, graphic art and so on.

Sculpture

This sculpture made with iron wire was my last work in Nykarleby. Picture shows me finishing it before it was put on display at an exhibition at the Aspegren´s Garden in 2008. Now it stands in front of our home in central Jakobstad! (Photo: Anders Lerbacka)
